CNF Online Journal 1: My Name

I, according to my name, am God. I shall be your salvation. As of now, the only person I should be saving is myself. My country, my green, beautiful, and warm country, is currently run by cold blood-soaked hands with corruption, injustice and militancy resulting in red streets and fields full of dead bodies. I live in a nation where the people disregard and disprove what children say. Since I belong to that group, I still have a long way to go and fight for what I know would be best for our future. Why do they think our opinions do not matter? It’s our future we are talking about, the children you disregard. Why do they always ask for our contribution to society? It’s not like they also had a lot, right?

I blame what my country is going through to colonialism. That seems ironic though. Well my second name comes from my colonizers. Being colonized for more than 300 years really changed the ways here. I admit myself that I prefer foreign brands more than local brands, but I don’t mean to. It’s just that most things sold here are from other countries. We patronize the products we didn’t even make. We always borrow- never making anything for ourselves.

Joshua Miguel: the real product of colonization. I want to be the complete opposite. I want to save my countrymen from the hell of an administration we are under and the oppression we face every single day brought by the people deciding for our future without even considering us. But before I do my quest to free the people from oppression, I have to be my salvation first. My teenager heart could never!
