Whenever I get colds and it turns out to be from mild to severe, it always reminds me of the time we went to Singapore and I was burning hot with fever. It reminds me of the hotel room we stayed at, specifically. While my family was out there having fun, I was stuck in that hotel room that to me, smelled like smoked wood and leaves. The mucus inside my nose started to smell like it whenever I tried to “suck them in” back to my body. This has been born deep into my mind that whenever I’d take a whiff and catch this, Singapore pops into my mind. Not all the colds I’ve had smelled like Singapore to me, sometimes there’s just no scent, or just plainly the scent of boogers up our noses. That’s why whenever I get colds, it just felt like I’m riding the Harry Potter ride all over again.
